Inverness, Cape Breton Island –
Inverness Beach. I call this place heaven on Earth. Once we parked the car in a lot surrounded by tall grass, we find the boardwalk that leads the way to the beach. It’s only a short walk to the stairs to the beach, but the boardwalk continues on above the beach. You can only wish it went on forever…

Did I mention it’s a perfect spot for setting up for a lunch? On our little road trip, this was our first stop. We left L’Ardoise around 9am and rented a van in Port Hawkesbury so we could travel the whole gang together. We then trekked up to Cheticamp and stopped along the way to admire some of the many things Cape Breton Island has to offer.
