L’Ardoise, Cape Breton Island –
Ten years ago is when I took this photo. My father came to visit from Ottawa, the trip he was finally able to make after many years of longing to come. Dad was 88 at the time and was overjoyed to be able to see where I settled, living here in Cape Breton.
Sadly, Dad passed away 2 weeks ago in Ottawa at the age of 98 . He was a soft spoken man, but his presence was (and still is) felt wherever his feet walked. He was the glue that kept his family together, always in touch in person, on his phone or chatting on Skype. With us miles and miles apart, thankfully Dad was up to-speed and quite skillful with computers. He always told me how he enjoyed my Photo of the Week posts. This one is for you Dad…
