St Peters Battery Park offers a wonderful hiking trail starting below the campground entrance and taking you through the wooded hills and along the shoreline back to the park’s lighthouse. At one point, at the top there is a park bench ideally located for a much deserved rest with a panoramic view of the town of St Peters.

Bird Island Tours – This week’s photo was picked from our boat trip to Bird Island, a boat tour on the Puffin Express that leaves from Big Bras d’Or and takes us on a two and a half hour tour, a wonderful sightseeing experience to small rocky  islands just off the coast of Cape Breton. – Thank you Maeghan Waters for this week’s photo!

Walking where the tall grass and the fine sand meet at Point Michaud Beach. The beach stretches in a bow shape from where large rocks are situated close to the parking area and goes for a number of kilometers to a wooded headland.

  1. Second full day of my second visit to Cape Breton. I know being a viitosr gives one a perspective different from a full-time resident, but even so I trust (hope?) that Capers realize the great beauty you all have around you. This is an amazing place. Just sayin’.
